Dansk ErhvervsOptik

We work for better vision at work

At Dansk ErhvervsOptik, we work for better vision at work. We’re experts in workplace glasses and offer a free corporate agreement that provides a number of benefits.

If you have employees who need DSE glasses or safety glasses, we offer to advise them so that they get glasses that are right for their eyesight, their work tasks and workstation.

We work with some of the country’s leading opticians and optometrists.

If your company needs to draw up a policy on this, we can help you with that.

We represent 450 opticians throughout Denmark

We’ve built up Denmark’s largest retailer network comprised of 450 quality-conscious opticians throughout the country. Rather than you as a company or employee having to spend time researching the market, you can benefit from the fact that we have already created a network that values quality.

This allows you to find the glasses you need and to choose quality lenses from all the leading glass manufacturers. The selection means that it is possible to get glasses for all work situations – also for work with, for example, large screens or multiple screens. At the same time – and just as importantly – the corporate agreement gives you greatly reduced prices on DSE glasses and safety glasses.

FAQs

DSE glasses are specially developed to take care of your eyes when undertaking DSE work. DSE glasses allow you to focus on a screen that is further away than the distance at which you normally hold a book or newspaper.

A lot of people use their prescription glasses when working in front of the computer. This can cause problems such as headaches, back pain, stiffness in the neck and shoulders as well as fatigue and stinging eyes, because they are not typically adapted to the viewing distance from the screen. You therefore risk straining your eyes and adopting a bad sitting posture in order to be able to see a clear image on the screen. This can lead to the discomforts mentioned.

Developments in DSE lenses have meant that the optician can now adapt DSE glasses to individual needs. So you no longer have to constantly put your glasses on and take them off in different work situations. With DSE glasses adapted to your individual needs, you can see the screen and keyboard clearly, as well as look out to a distance of either 1, 2 or 4 metres, depending on the type of lens you choose.

DSE glasses alone cannot prevent all discomforts. It is also important to consider how your workstation is set up, both in relation to lighting, monitor configuration, working posture and variation in the daily work routines.

Three types of DSE glasses are currently available. What you choose depends on your needs:

  1. I have to be able to look clearly at the screen and keyboard, and 3.5 to 4 metres out into the room
  2. I have to be able to look clearly at the screen, keyboard and desk 1.5 to 2 metres out into the room.
  3. I have to be able to look clearly at the screen, keyboard and desk, and a 1.5 to 2 metres out into the room

“The job you do is only as good as your vision.” That assertion also applies to an employee who works with DSE. Good vision is therefore a prerequisite for an employee’s well-being.

Dansk ErhvervsOptik offers advice on the correct set-up of the workplace and choosing the right eyewear solution for DSE work. We also help assess when employees’ prescription glasses are suitable for the job and when they need DSE glasses under current legislation.

Dansk ErhvervsOptik helps your company to draw up a policy on this. We offer the country’s largest retailer network and a wide selection of quality lenses from all the leading lens manufacturers. The selection means that you can get glasses for all work situations, including working on large screens or multiple screens.

An agreement with Dansk ErhvervsOptik allows your company to comply with the legislation.

The company has to pay if an eye test shows that the employee needs DSE glasses.

The employee is entitled to an eye test if discomfort occurs as a result of DSE work. The test must, as far as possible, take place during normal working hours. If the examination shows that DSE glasses are necessary to alleviate the discomfort, the company must pay for them.
